Fed and Not Fed Up

Carlos' brother and a friend spent the last couple of weeks in London after visiting the country from Argentina, touring with a football team. They happily spent a week on Flamenco, mucking in with the cleaning and fetching water.

dinner.jpgWaterman's kicked off its part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad on Friday night with a private view of London Mix and a charity dinner.

The arts centre also had an Open House day on Saturday to reveal backstage secrets, and a Family Fun day with a carnival theme on Sunday.

Success for the Brentford Police

To help Brentford remain a safer place, Police officers from all four Brentford Safer Neighbourhood Teams were involved in a two-day joint Operation held on Monday 15 & Tuesday 16 September along with Traffic Police Officers from Hampton Traffic garage.

A large number of vehicles were stopped and checked for driving documents, Insurance and illegal loads of scrap metal.


Awareness of climate change and the need to protect the environment is growing and is not restricted to any one section of the community.

On Saturday, October 4, Hounslow Friends of Faith is bringing together speakers and displays from different faiths to challenge and inspire people to do their bit for the environment.

paralympics.jpgDisabled youngsters battled it out at Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre last Wednesday to mark the London Paralympic handover.

Dozens of children competed in events from running to rowing at the facility in Chiswick High Road, Brentford.

They received medals for their achievements at the event, aimed at highlighting the sporting opportunities for people with disabilities.

Future gatherings of the 'regeneration board', featuring members from the site's joint owners Hounslow and Ealing councils, will be open to all in a bid to quell fears of a sell-off.

Recently-published author and grandmother-of-six Renee Tyack, from Brentford, is celebrating after completing They Called Her Cassandra, a family history of how her Jewish parents survived persecution and successfully brought their young family to England.

Carlos got back to Flamenco two nights ago. He's been at the Burningman Festival in the Nevada desert for the past six weeks. So no more long and lonely nights, just differences of opinion and testosterone fights!
