Brentford Festival 2008

The rain held off for Sunday so that thousands of visitors to Boston Manor Park could enjoy The Brentford Festival.

Run by the Friends of Boston Manor Park, the annual event saw arts and crafts stalls, great food and information stands from dozens of local charities and groups pack the park - click here to view our photo gallery

As well as the climbing wall, dog show and tea garden, guests also enjoyed an environmentally friendly performance by band The Riverboat Pirates (see video), whose equipment was powered by people riding stationary bicycles along side them.

Katie Cole, 11, of Ealing, said: "We have been watching the dog show. Seeing all the different dog breeds was quite interesting."

Canadian Frances Vaillent, 41, of Northfields Avenue, Brentford, enjoyed the 'green' information that was on offer. "We got some great goodie bags and some really helpful information on recycling," he said. "We loved being able to go into Boston Manor House as well, it's not usually open. It was really beautiful and it's important to know what the council is doing with it."

Chronicle fan Barry Saupin, 40, visited the fair with his dog."I live in Uxbridge so my in-laws bring me a copy of the paper every week. I can't live without it - the football coverage is great. I tell them they can't come over without it."
