Disabled athletes honoured at Paralympic handover
Disabled youngsters battled it out at Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre last Wednesday to mark the London Paralympic handover.
Dozens of children competed in events from running to rowing at the facility in Chiswick High Road, Brentford.
They received medals for their achievements at the event, aimed at highlighting the sporting opportunities for people with disabilities.
The handover ceremony followed the end of the 2008 Paralympics in Beijing, where Great Britain finished second in the medal table behind hosts China.
Guest of honour on the day was Feltham's Ryan Langdon, who is set to make the 2012 Olympic squad for boccia - a sport likened to French boules with soft balls.
