Body in Brentford canal

Posted by Jessica Thomas on Dec 29, 08 05:06 PM in People

The body of a man found in the canal at Brentford is believed to be that of a missing epileptic.

Police fished the body suspected to be 24-year-old Mohammed Khalif out of the canal at Transport Avenue on Sunday 28 at 12.53pm - a week after he was reported missing by his family.

The Somalian was last seen leaving Ealing Hospital at about 2.15pm the previous Sunday, with family and police growing increasingly worried, mainly due to the fact he suffered from epilepsy and was not thought to have any medication on him.

Although Mr Khalif, of Northcote Avenue, Southall, had never gone missing before, police are not treating the death as suspicious.

A post mortem took place on Monday at Fulham mortuary.

As the Chronicle went to press the body had yet to be formally identified, but a police source said officers were confident it was that of Mr Khalif.
