Following the decline of the much loved Brentford and Chiswick Swimming Club four teachers have come together to create a new one.

Starting this evening at Brentford Leisure Centre in Chiswick High Road, swimmers of any age or skill can pop down for lessons from 6pm to 8pm.

marcus-akin.jpgHairy window fitter Marcus Akin is hoping to win Big Brother for Brentford after becoming a contestant on the reality TV show.

The 35-year-old former pupil of Hounslow Manor School was described by host Davina McCall as looking like Wolverine from the X-Men films, to which he rebutted: "He looks like me."
