Big Brother Marcus has haircut as he faces the chop

akin6.jpgBig Brother housemate Marcus Akin could be back in Brentford this weekend - but without his famous mullet.

The 35-year-old window fitter, who describes himself as the 'Irrepressible Dark Horse', is the bookmakers' favourite to be evicted this week, after surviving a creditable 10 weeks on the Channel 4 reality show.

And Wolverine-lookalike Marcus - a former pupil of Hounslow Manor School - has decided he will face the crowds sporting a new haircut.

On Thursday afternoon Akin as fellow housemate Charlie Drummond to cut his hair for his new official Big Brother photograph. However viewers will not see the results of his close encounter with the shears until Friday night's Big Brother show.

Earlier this week the Brentford boy had worked himself into a paranoia about his BB photo, which he said made him look like "a freak of nature".

He said: "I looked at it [the photo] quickly for two seconds and it's made me go like this. I honestly feel like crying, I really do. After all the things in this house, I've never thought about crying but looking at that picture makes me wanna cry.

"It's like there's a ball of sadness. It makes me so sad. Everyone else's picture looks so nice."

In a bid to lift his spirits Big Brother gave Marcus a sack of fanmail on Thursday and allowed him to take a new photograph, prompting him to agree to a haircut.

Marcus goes up against his pal Halfwit (real name Freddie Fisher) who viewers have saved from eviction on five occasions so far.

If he is shown the door the batchelor, who still lives at his mum's, will be hoping his new found fame (and haircut) will be a hit with the ladies. In particular singing superstar Leona Lewis will need to watch out - as Marcus asked housemates this whether they thought she might sleep with him.
