Barack to the Future by comedian Inder Manocha begins on Thurs 7 Jan

Posted by Watermans Art Centre on Jan 5, 10 03:40 PM in What's On

Comedian, Inder Manocha will be developing his new show at the Watermans Studio in time to run it in before Edinburgh. Inder says: "the show I'm developing is about whether there's been multicultural progress in my lifetime. It's called Barack to the Future."

Manocha, a quick witted and incisive comedian, read modern history at Jesus College, Oxford, and then worked as a therapist. He began his career as a stand up after being a finalist in So You Think you are Funny & Hackney Empire New Comedy Acts of the Year in both in 2001. In 2004, he was named 'Best Comedian' at the EMMA (Ethnic Multicultural Media Achievement) awards in 2004, and he made his Edinburgh debut in 2006. Manocha also performs as an actor and recently appeared in the independent feature film, The Blue Tower (winner of the Best UK Feature at the Raindance Film Festival, 2008).

Manocha's brand of comedy explores multiculturalism and pokes fun at political correctness as it appears in day to day scenarios. He will be appearing at Watermans Studio every Thursday night from 7 January until 18 February. To make it even more of an evening he will be accompanied by, Juliet Meyers who will be performing a piece titled Wheely Suitcase.

This chatty comedian, also presents more work in progress whilst contemplating life's dilemmas, travel, love and almost everything apart from Peter Andre and Jordan about whom she couldn't give a monkeys (although there is stuff about monkeys)!

Why not come and see the creative process in action? Every evening will be different.
