Boat Race Protester Says He's Not Guilty Of Causing a Public Nuisance

Posted by Lima Curtis on May 23, 12 04:10 PM in People

THE SWIMMER who disrupted the University Boat Race has denied causing a public nuisance.

Trenton Oldfield, 35, was rescued by Chiswick RNLI after he swam into the middle of the Thames near the Chiswick Eyot during the Oxford-Cambridge clash on April 7.

He appeared at Isleworth Crown Court today (May 23), where he entered his plea.

He will stand trial at the same court on September 24.

The lifeboat volunteer group said thanks to the disruption from Oldfield and an Oxford rower collapsing, it was their most challenging boat race ever.

We'd like to hear from you.

Woah! I'm really loving the template/theme of this blog. It's simple,
yet effective. A lot of times it's tough to get that "perfect balance" between user friendliness and visual appeal. I must say you have done a very good job with this. In addition, the blog loads extremely quick for me on Firefox. Outstanding Blog!
